Zerobute contains herbs and natural compounds that provide a safe and effective way to soothe the musculoskeletal system, maintaining mobility. The well-known properties of Devil’s Claw are mainly due to the active constituents harpagocides, which help to keep the horse comfortable. This is complemented by the herb Chamomile, which helps to keep muscles relaxed, as well as Yucca and Meadowsweet, all of which have well known soothing effects. MSM is a source of Sulphur, necessary for the production of Collagen and connective tissues, and Celery seeds have a warming effect so are ideal to feed to horse’s that are tired or run down as a pick-me-up. Zerobute also contains Bromelain, a natural enzyme extracted from the stem of the Pineapple plant, thought to be helpful in maintaining healthy tendons and ligaments. With a complex chemistry, this combination of herbs and plant extracts are naturally soothing and comforting.
Zerobute can be fed alongside our high specification joint supplement, Extraflex HA with Rosehips, and is safe to feed long term. Ideal for older horses or younger horses that have been worked hard and have a bit of wear and tear. Zerobute is not suitable for horses and ponies under competition rules.
A revolutionary supplement combining ingredients to help both joints and muscles. If our horse doesn’t feel quite right we often reach for a joint supplement to soothe the issue, but in many cases the problem can also be due to tight or tired muscles. ActiVet combines the well-known joint support of high quality vegetarian Glucosamine HCl, MSM and Omega-3 with supportive nutrients that encourage healthy muscle and support athletic recovery. The important antioxidants Vitamin E and Selenium work synergistically to neutralise the presence of free radicals within muscles, and Magnesium has a vital role in both nervous system function and healthy muscle contraction and relaxation. In addition to these, Boswellia has been added. This important plant resin, which is commonly known as Frankincense, has a long-standing use of helping maintain comfort, both in human and animal nutraceuticals.
ActiVet provides a safe and efficient way to support your horse’s musculoskeletal system, ideal for horses of any age.
Perfect for everyday joint support. Glucosamine HCl is used by the body to maintain articular cartilage and joint function. Providing a dietary source of Glucosamine HCl helps to support the horse’s natural shock absorbing system and allow supple and fluid movement. MSM works alongside Glucosamine supplying Sulphur that is required to provide strength to articular cartilage, and by protecting cells against oxidative damage with its antioxidant properties. Both of these ingredients are included to provide the recommended 10g each per day if fed at the optimum serving rate.
A complex formulation to encourage hoof regeneration and optimise production of strong, resilient hooves.
Keratin is responsible for the resilient structure of the hoof wall. This is a structural protein also found in hair, wool, skin and finger nails, and is made up of certain amino acids. Providing the amino acids Methionine, Threonine and Lysine, which are present in high levels in Hardy Hoof, allows Keratin synthesis, with Methionine being of particular importance because the horse can convert this into Cysteine, the amino acid that gives Keratin it’s strength and structure. In order for this to happen, Vitamin B6 must also be present. Calcium is a macro-mineral that plays an important role in the formation of bones, muscles, teeth, and virtually every other structure in the horse’s body – it’s also crucial for good hoof growth. Calcium is necessary for the adhesion of one cell to the next, which is of particular importance in hooves, where cells are arranged tightly. The trace mineral Zinc has many roles in the equine body, including some involvement with cell division and growth rates. It is thought to be necessary for the horse’s ability to utilise amino acids and Sulphur, and therefore production of Keratin. Absorption of Zinc is affected by Copper levels within the body, so these minerals should be supplemented in the correct ratio.
In addition to amino acids and these minerals, Hardy Hoof contains Biotin, probably the best-known hoof health ingredient – only 1mg of Biotin is needed for all round health, however, those with poor hooves have been shown to greatly benefit from the addition of extra Biotin to the diet. Our Hoof supplement contains 35mg of Biotin to ensure optimum hoof growth and health. In addition to this, MSM is an excellent source of dietary Sulphur, a mineral necessary for the integrity of the hoof wall as it has a role in bonding protein strands in the hoof. Hardy Hoof also contains Iodine, which is essential for healthy thyroid function, which in turn is necessary for hoof and hair quality. Finally, Linseed is widely used to improve hoof quality, as it is rich in essential fatty acids, which help to seal moisture into the hoof. Combined with the phospholipid Lecithin (which is rich in Choline for cell flexibility) this aids pliability of the hooves, and helps to maintain the optimum moisture level, stopping the hooves from absorbing external moisture. Hay diets in particular may be low in fatty acids.
This increasingly popular plant resin optimises mobility and performance by exerting a soothing action on tired joints and muscles. Boswellia can also help to maintain respiratory health and aids the digestive system, firming loose droppings.
Ideal for older horses with limited mobility, Devil’s Claw maintains general health of the muscoskeletal system and helps with stiffness in the joints and muscles. It has traditionally been used for it’s natural soothing effects.
