This is easy to use and is good value for money because it only has to be used every two months.
I didn't have any issues feeding it to my horse, fortunately he is fed with a food that can be fed dry, which did make life easier.

Brilliant product in this drought weather. My paddocks looked more like a desert, so I was concerned about sand colic. Both horses accepted it, although my mare fiddled with her food the 1st night!!!

Horse was a little fussy eating it, but did eventually during the night if feed was left. Value for money is top notch and does the job. Would recommend

Excellent service. I found Sand-free very simple to use & the horses ate it no problem. Would definitely recommend for peace of mind especially with such dry weather.

I have fed several types of sand management supplements over the years due to my horses living on sandy grazing. Both of mine ate this with no fuss and with the dosage only requiring to be fed every other month this is a really cost effective supplement. I shall definitely be using this from now on

Like with all feedmark products I was very impressed with the speed of delivery and yhe information and help available.

We have recently bought a 3yr old mare and our grazing is sandy so we are using as a preventative.
She isn't keen on eating it but managed the 5 day course, had to disguise with a bit of carrot. I think a pellet based formula would be easier though.

Feeding Guide

Sand-Free™ is a preventative supplement and should be fed for 5 consecutive days, every 2 months.

Weight of Horse/Pony	Amount per day (for 5 consecutive days)
Up to 400kg	1/3 scoop
Over 400kg	3/4 scoop

1 level (150ml) scoop of Sand-Free™ weighs approximately 60g

Follow recommended feeding guidelines, ensuring the product does not come into contact with fluids. Where possible layer between dry feed. Access to clean, fresh water should be available at all times. Can be fed for longer periods of time or at higher rates in conjunction with veterinary advice.

Storage: Store in an airtight container away from direct sunlight

Feed supplements should be fed according to body weight, splitting between feeds (when applicable).

Sand-Free™ is a complementary feeding stuff for equine animals. Feedmark uses nothing in the formulation of this product that contravenes competition rules.

Nutrition Information

Psyllium has been used traditionally in humans, and is a recognised management option for horses with sand burdens. Containing a soluble fibre source, Sand-Free™ forms a gel-like substance when exposed to water. The water absorbing properties means it acts as a hydroscopic sponge, allowing it to pick up and aid the removal of unwanted foreign material (such as sand and indigestible roughage) from the folds and bends of the digestive tract.

Why does Sand-Free™ need to be fed dry?

Psyllium is a solubule fibre source, which forms a gel-like substance when exposed to water. The water absorbing properties of Psyllium enable it to act as a hydroscopic sponge, surrounding and removing unwanted foreign material (sand, toxins and indigestible roughage) from the folds and bends of the digestive tract.

Can I feed Sand-Free™ if I feed a soaked feed?

You can add Sand-Free™ to a soaked feed, however add them near to the time you will be feeding your horse. This is because Sand-Free™ will absorb water and form a gel-like substance and we want this process to happen once the horse has ingested the Sand-Free™, and not happen in their bowl.
