Bespoke Horse Supplements: Tailored Nutrition and Your Top Questions Answered

Every horse is unique, and so are their nutritional requirements. This is where Feedmark’s Bespoke All-In-One comes in – a tailor-made supplement designed to meet your horses’ specific requirements, while keeping things simple and fuss-free for owners.

Creating your horse’s Bespoke All-In-One profile

Once you’re logged into your Feedmark account, click on the Products menu on the left-hand side of your screen. Bespoke All-In-One will be the top of the menu that pops up. If you click on that, you’ll see an option to Create New. Once you’ve selected that option, you can start creating the profile for your horse. You’ll be prompted to enter their name, bodyweight, body condition and workload. You can also upload a photo of your horse to appear on the front of the tub by clicking on the grey horse icon.

Once the profile is set up, you can add the supplements you would like your horse to have, choosing from the different sections in the black menu towards the top of the page. You can choose to include 2-7 different options. If you would like any help choosing what to put in, please do feel free to reach out to our nutritionists by emailing [email protected], calling 0800 585525 or sending us a DM on social media

Making your horse’s Bespoke All-In-One

Using the information provided in your horse’s profile and the supplements you’ve chosen, we then calculate your horse’s daily requirement of each ingredient, and work out how much they need over a 30, 60 or 90-day period, depending on the tub size you have chosen. A common misconception with Bespoke supplements is that tubs of various finished products are mixed, but this is not the case. Bespoke supplements are created specifically for your horse based on their requirements (body weight, body condition & workload). Once the individual ingredients have been weighed out, they are all mixed together in the same way as we mix our ‘standalone’ products, ensuring everything is properly mixed so that your horse receives the correct amount of each nutrient every day.

Daily serving size

The calculated daily serving size is calculated in grams, which is then weighed out into a measuring beaker graduated in millilitres to convert the weight of the serving size to volume, which most owners find easier to measure out each day. As soon as your horse’s Bespoke has been made, you’ll receive an email with the list of ingredients and the daily serving size in millilitres. This information will also be on the back of the tub.

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Some products I’ve chosen for my horse’s Bespoke share ingredients; how do I know that I'm not over-supplementing?

When product options are included which contain identical ingredients, you can be safe in the knowledge that there will be no doubling up. Bespoke supplements are created based on the precise amount of active ingredients that your individual horse requires, so we don’t add extra or over the amount needed. This means that there is never any doubling up on ingredients, which will save you money and give you the peace of mind that what you are feeding your horse is safe, as there is no risk of feeding ingredients which interact poorly with each other or could over fortify the diet.

  1. Why is my horse's weight and workload important for customising my Bespoke supplement?

We ask you to provide your horse's bodyweight and workload so that we can accurately determine the amount of active ingredients that your horse will require daily. Some active ingredients have higher intakes at higher workloads, so knowing this information means we can tailor your horse's supplement to their exact requirements.

  1. My horse’s daily serving size seems quite big. Why is that?

The Bespoke All-In-One daily serving size will never be bigger than if you were to feed the same supplements separately, and oftentimes, will be smaller. This is because we take out any ingredients that would be doubled up as described above, and also because the amount of each ingredient is calculated for your horse's needs rather than based on a weight bracket as per the feeding recommendations on standalone products. It’s important to note that having the right ingredients in a supplement isn’t the only factor in how effective it will be; you also need enough of each ingredient. We make sure to include research-backed effective levels of each nutrient so that the Bespoke All-In-One is every bit as effective for your horse as the standalone products.

  1. How does the Feedmark Bespoke all-in-one subscription work?

A Bespoke subscription saves you money as you automatically get 10% off when purchasing a supplement on subscription. Once you have set up a subscription for your horse, we will create their personalised Bespoke supplement each month and ship it to you without you having to worry or remember to place an order.

  1. Can I change what’s in my Bespoke All-In-One, even if it’s on a subscription?

We know that horses’ requirements can change regularly based on the seasons, workload, or unforeseen circumstances such as injury or box rest. You can still make changes to what is included in your horse's Bespoke supplement when purchasing on a subscription – they just have to be done before we are due to make the next supplement for you. You can pause or cancel the Bespoke supplement between each delivery.

  1. Is there a limit on the number of subscriptions I can have?

No, you can have as many subscriptions as you like - you just have to put them through separately at the checkout.

If you’re feeding two or more supplements, a Bespoke All-In-One is a simple, time-saving way to ensure your horse is receiving the right nutrition. It saves time when feeding, and also saves space as you only have one tub in the feed room. It also makes feeding time simpler if your horse is on full livery or you share feeding duties with a friend, and it is ideal for horses who travel regularly, as you only have to remember to take one supplement tub with you.
