I'm confident this product is helping keep my pony's digestive system working properly as his poos look healthy; especially as the grazing keeps changing with dry weather after a spring growth, its hard to keep adjusting where he eats, but I know BioPro helps him.

Have used BioPro for many years after my horse had very loose droppings. I telephoned the Feedmark team got advice and they were really helpful and recommended BioPro. After I started adding to feeds there were no further problems

BioPro™ combines live yeast Yea-Sacc® with the prebiotic FOS.

Horses have evolved to eat a high fibre diet, and this fibrous material is utilised by the horse following the process of fermentation to break it down. This fermentation is undertaken by a number of microorganisms which reside in the hindgut of the horse. The balance of different species is vital in order to keep the hindgut, and hence the horse, healthy, and to allow the horse to get the most from their diet. This balance is easy to upset, and changes in the diet, exercise and management of the horse can have negative impacts on this population, and allow the number of undesirable bacteria to rise. To help keep this delicate environment in peak condition, providing prebiotics (food for the good bacteria), and adding beneficial live yeast in the form of Yea-Sacc® helps to stabilise the population of microorganisms, which allows efficient digestion of fibre, reduces digestive upsets, and helps to maintain optimum digestive health for your horse.

BioPro™ should be fed daily to optimise hindgut health, to older horses, or horses that are poor doers. It can also support horses under increased stress, such as when competing, travelling, or when routine is changing.

BioPro™has been formulated to maximise the utilisation of nutrients in your horse's fibrous feed. It is safe to add to your horse's current ration continuously and alongside regular feed and any other supplements. Please allow at least 7 - 10 days for effects to be seen.

Up to twice the recommended amount can be fed for up to 2 weeks if necessary.

Feed supplements should be fed according to body weight. Introduce to the horse's diet gradually, splitting between feeds (when applicable).

BioPro™is a complementary feeding stuff for equine animals. Feedmark uses nothing in the formulation of this product that contravenes competition rules.

Can you feed this supplement long term?

BioPro can be fed long term to maintain your horse’s digestive health, or may be fed for a month to support the hind gut through periods of stress, for example, moving yards, change of routine, medication or worming.

My horse eats his poo would this help?

Eating poo, or ‘Coprophagy’ is common among horses and many other animals. This is not considered an abnormal behaviour, and is common in foals. It is thought that horses eat poo to help to populate their hind gut with beneficial bacteria. Feeding a pre and probiotic, such as BioPro, can help support this behaviour by ensuring a healthy population of bacteria in the hind gut.

My horse struggles with weight gain, would this help?

Feeding a live yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) supports feed and forage utilisation and therefore can help to maintain correct body weight.

My pony has really loose poo, could this help him?

Helping to keep the bacterial population in the hind gut healthy can really support horses with loose or runny poo so BioPro would be the ideal supplement to feed your horse or pony.
