Storage : Store in a cool, dark place out of direct sunlight and excessive heat. Always replace cap after use.

Feed supplements should be fed according to body weight. Introduce to the horse's diet gradually, splitting between feeds (when applicable).

Linseed Oil is a complementary feeding stuff for equine animals. Feedmark uses nothing in the formulation of this product that contravenes competition rules.

Nutrition Information

Omega Oil is 100% Linseed oil, which provides one of the highest natural amount of Omega-3 in a vegetable based source. Omega-3 is known as an essential fatty acid, meaning that they are essential in the diet, as the horse cannot produce them itself. Essential fatty acids, such as Omega-3 play vital roles in the body, including supporting skin and coat health, and Omega-3 in particular plays a role in normal inflammatory responses, and as such can also support joint health.

What is the omega 3:6 ratio of Omega Oil?

The omega 3:6 ratio is approximately 3:1.

Why is it important to maintain a correct omega 3:6 ratio?

Maintaining a correct omega 3:6 balance is important as omega 3-fatty acids are anti-inflammatory and omega 6-fatty acids are pro-inflammatory. Both of these fatty acids are essential fatty acids for the horse, meaning that they have to be provided in the diet.

What is the correct omega 3:6 ratio?

The ideal omega 3:6 ratio hasn't yet been established for horses and it is important to remember that omega 6-fatty acids aren't bad. However, there needs to be a higher level of omega 3-fatty acids in the overall diet, compared to omega-6 fatty acids, to help moderate the pro-inflammatory response.
